Why does CodeRabbit Support ask for a PR or MR link?
Last updated: January 22, 2026
Context
If you contact CodeRabbit Support about a problem with a review – such as outdated, incorrect, missing, or unexpected output – you may be asked to share the Pull Request (PR) or Merge Request (MR) URL. You may wonder why a link is necessary when you have already provided screenshots or a detailed description.
Answer
Screenshots only show the final review output and do not include the full context needed to debug the issue. To accurately investigate, CodeRabbit Support needs access to the PR or MR link to review internal logs and understand what triggered the analysis.
The PR/MR link is a key into our internal logs and allows us to verify:
Which commits and files were analyzed
Repository and PR-level configuration (for example, YAML settings)
Whether usage limits, filters, or skipped-review conditions applied
The exact timing and inputs that produced the review
Without the PR or MR link, we may not be able to determine why a review behaved a certain way or confirm whether the behavior is expected.
Providing the PR or MR URL helps us give you a clear, accurate explanation and resolve issues faster. If you are unsure which PR or MR to share, CodeRabbit Support will be happy to help guide you.
