Sales tax collection for US customers.

Last updated: July 27, 2026

Overview

CodeRabbit collects sales tax for customers located in select US states, beginning with invoices issued after June 30, 2026. This change applies to customers in the jurisdictions listed below and appears as a separate line item on affected invoices.

Effective date

Tax collection applies to invoices dated after June 30, 2026. Invoices issued on or before that date are not affected.

Applicable jurisdictions

CodeRabbit currently collects sales tax in the following US locations:

  • Texas

  • Washington

  • Massachusetts

  • Utah

  • New York

  • Pennsylvania

  • Ohio

  • Chicago, IL

Billing addresses outside of the locations listed above are not subject to tax collection. Any future changes to taxable jurisdictions will be communicated in advance.

Invoice presentation

Sales tax appears as a separate line item on invoices, calculated based on the billing address and the applicable state or local tax rate. Subscription pricing is not affected.

Tax-exempt organizations

Organizations exempt from sales tax — such as educational institutions, nonprofits, or government entities — may request that an exemption be applied to the account.

How to request an exemption

  1. Contact the CodeRabbit Support team (see "Need help?" below).

  2. Provide a valid exemption certificate for the applicable state or jurisdiction.

  3. Once verified, the exemption will be applied to the account for all future invoices.
