Managing users in the Customer Portal
Last updated: July 31, 2026
Overview
The Customer Portal allows your team to submit and track support requests with CodeRabbit. Your organization controls who has access to the portal and what permissions each user has.
We recommend having at least one portal admin who is responsible for managing users within your organization.
Accessing the Customer Portal
Sign in to the CodeRabbit application.
Click your profile icon in the lower-left corner.
Select Customer Portal from the menu.
If prompted, enter your work email address to access the Customer Portal.
After signing in, you'll be taken to the Customer Portal homepage.
Note: New users must first be granted access by a portal admin or during the initial setup performed by CodeRabbit.
User roles
The Customer Portal has two user roles.
Role | Description | Permissions |
|---|---|---|
Admin | Admins are responsible for managing Customer Portal users within their organization. | • View and manage all support tickets submitted by their organization. • Invite new users to the Customer Portal. • Change user roles. • Manage portal access for their organization. |
Member | Members can use the Customer Portal to work with CodeRabbit Support but have limited administrative permissions. | • Submit support requests. • View and manage tickets they personally created. • Comment on their own tickets. • Cannot view tickets submitted by other users. • Cannot invite new users. • Cannot change user roles. |
No access | Users with the no access role cannot sign in to the Customer Portal. This role should be assigned to users who no longer require access, such as employees who have left the organization. | • Cannot access the Customer Portal. • User account and ticket history are retained. • Access can be restored later by changing the user's role back to admin or member. |
Managing users (admins only)
Portal admins are responsible for managing Customer Portal access for their organization.
Add a new user

Select the members tab.
Click add member.
Enter the user's work email address.
Select the appropriate Customer Portal role:
Change a user's role
Sign in to the Customer Portal as an admin.
Select the members tab.
Locate the user whose role you want to update.
Select the user and click edit role.
Choose the appropriate role:
Remove user access
If someone leaves your organization or no longer requires access to the Customer Portal:
Sign in to the Customer Portal as an admin.
Select the members tab.
Locate and select the user.
Click edit role.
Change the user's role to no access.
Note: Users cannot be deleted from the Customer Portal. Setting a user to no access prevents them from signing in while preserving their account history.
Best Practices
Maintain at least one portal admin at all times.
Assign the admin role only to users responsible for managing Customer Portal access.
Assign the member role to users who only need to submit and track their own support requests.
Review portal users periodically and change former employees or users who no longer require access to no access.
Allow your organization's portal admins to manage day-to-day user administration.
